  • Advantages and disadvantages of using personal mobile devices in financial institutions

This article discusses information system vulnerabilities associated with the use of personal mobile devices in financial services companies. The recommendations of this study will help to understand the importance of formulating an information security policy in this situation. The use of personal devices by employees has become commonplace in the workplace due to the increased reliance of business processes on Internet-based services and advances in technology. The organization benefits from the fact that employees buy, use their own devices, thus, the organization reduces the cost of providing employees with computer equipment and software for workplaces. However, a company can suffer huge losses if the use and connection of personal devices to the company's information technology infrastructure is not regulated and controlled. Hacking personal devices by intruders allows you to gain unauthorized access to the assets of information systems. Financial institutions handle highly sensitive information, which makes them more vulnerable when using personal devices. A qualitative research method was conducted with specially selected participants working in the information security departments of financial institutions. The study revealed the lack of an information security policy regarding personal devices and the use of an unlimited number of such devices by employees.

  • Monitoring of cracks in building structures

Building objects experience various kinds of impacts that can cause deformations of structural elements - deflections, integrity violations, complete destruction of individual elements, etc. Timely detection of deformations and monitoring of their dynamics is the most important element of the safe operation of buildings and structures. The task of monitoring cracks in building structures is to record changes in cracks in order to monitor their technical condition. As a result of monitoring, decisions are made on the further operation of the facility, the need for repair measures, and the elimination of factors affecting the development of cracks. The use of beacons makes it possible to monitor the behavior of deformations of building structures. For the simplest observations, gypsum and point beacons can be used, for more detailed observations, clock-type beacons and plate beacons can be used. Electronic beacons enable detailed automated monitoring of changes.

  • Analysis of the features of software systems that support information modeling technologies in building design

The article contains a detailed analysis of software systems used in information modeling technologies. The comparative characteristics of the advantages and disadvantages of the software of domestic and foreign developers are presented. Two of the most popular on the Russian market — Revit and Renga - are considered in detail. As a result of the analysis carried out taking into account the needs of the construction market, the conclusion is formulated that the use of the Renga program requires significantly less labor to master. It is also important that the cost of this software is significantly lower than that of competitive analogues. The active implementation of such systems in design organizations can significantly speed up design work and avoid mistakes at many stages of the investment and construction process. In organizations that use TIM technologies in their work, all participants will have the opportunity to act according to a single scenario with the interchangeability of employees, which significantly accelerates the receipt of the final product.

  • Numerical simulation of the joint thermal diffusion process in silicon wafers

The paper considers a model problem of a combined thermal and diffusion process in silicon. The mathematical model of this process is an initial-boundary value problem for a system of linear partial differential equations of parabolic type. In this system, one equation describes the process of heat propagation in silicon, and the other describes the process of impurity diffusion in it. In this case, the equations are not independent in the same way that the diffusion coefficient depends on temperature. For each equation in this system, the corresponding initial-boundary conditions are set. An implicit difference scheme and the classical sweep method are used to find an approximate solution to the problem that has arisen. The paper presents a description of a numerical algorithm and exact calculation formulas for solving a discretized parabolic problem.

  • Geometric analysis of areas of ambiguity of the angle of attack in the problem of the motion of an aerodynamic pendulum in the flow of a quasi-static medium

In the article, a mathematical model of the oscillations of an aerodynamic pendulum in the flow of a moving medium is constructed and investigated. As a model of the effect of the medium on the body, the model of quasi-static flow around the plate by the medium is adopted. According to this hypothesis, the aerodynamic forces acting on the body are applied at the center of pressure. In our problem, the pressure center is movable relative to the plate. The equations of motion for the body under consideration are obtained. The transition to new dimensionless variables has been carried out. The violation of uniqueness in determining the angle of attack at points where the air velocity of the pressure center is close to zero is shown. Envelopes for some areas of ambiguity are constructed using multiple solutions of algebraic nonlinear equations derived from kinematic relations. To do this, the coordinates of the return points are determined, the solution of the equations themselves is found, and the boundaries of the areas of ambiguity are depicted. In the mathematical package MATLAB 18, a program is written that.

  • Orthogonal signal processing using mathematical models of discrete wavelet transformations implemented in modular residue classes codes

To improve the efficiency of low-orbit satellite Internet systems (LOSIS) and ensure high apeed of data exchange, systems supporting orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) technology are widely used. The use of OFDM methods makes it possible to expand the bandwidth of the radio channel based on the increase in spectral efficiency. In order to do this, OFDM systems use orthogonal signal transformation based on fast Fourier transformation (FFT). To reduce the time spent on signal processing, the article proposes to use discrete wavelet transformations of signals (DWT) implemented in modular residue classes codes (MRCC). The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that based on the integration of methods for constructing discrete wavelet transforms and methods for developing modular codes, mathematical models of DWT implemented in the MRCC will be created, the use of which will reduce the execution time of orthogonal signal processing in OFDM systems. This result will be achieved by parallelizing arithmetic operations on the modules of the modular code. At the same time, the use of low-bit operands makes it possible to switch from performing multiplication, addition, and subtraction operations in the MRCC to retrieving data from LUT tables. Thus, the development of mathematical models of discrete wavelet transformations implemented in modular codes of residue classes is an urgent task.

  • Challenges for improving modern automated process control systems

This paper gives an overview of the main safety problems of modern APCSs and formulates the challenges to overcome them. The aim of the work was to review the safety of modern APCSs. Emergencies associated with consistent erroneous actions of operating personnel must prevent control systems. Until the early 2000s, APCSs were considered to be the safest systems, due to their operation according to a rigid and verified algorithm, the human factor could not affect them. To enable remote control and monitoring, an internet connection became necessary. Due to an increase in the number of cyber-attacks on automated process control systems, an unprotected Internet connection had become insecure, and a new opportunity to influence the system from the outside had appeared. The security and reliability of modern process control systems has become even more important.
