  • The influence of silver additive on electrical resistance of the manganese dioxide surface

In the work presented for the first time experimental data on measurement of the ESR and impedance of a coating of manganese dioxide obtained from manganese nitrate with the addition of silver nitrate by thermolysis method. Analysis of coating (XRF, SEM, XRD) of manganese dioxide with the addition of silver show a significant decrease in the resistance of the coatings. The development of energy efficient coating of manganese dioxide is one of the key objectives in the technology of low-impedance tantalum capacitors. Obtained by thermolytic method (the processing temperature of 250 and 300 °C) coating of manganese dioxide with the addition of silver nitrate 27% solution of manganese nitrate was analyzed using the RLC. The results of studies on the effect of additives in the impregnation solution of manganese nitrate on the resistance of coatings of manganese dioxide showed the possibility of significant reduction of the resistance (15 times at a temperature of thermolysis at 250°C, 45 times at a temperature of thermolysis 300 °C) by reference to the precursor silver nitrate; raising the temperature of the thermolysis of manganese nitrate from 250 to 300°C leads to the decrease of the resistance of the coating; use freshly prepared solution of manganese nitrate leads to the decrease of the resistance of the coating.

  • Method for using pulp and paper industry waste as binder for pelletization flotation potassium chloride

The possibility in principle of using pulp and paper industry waste as a binder for pelletization flotation potassium chloride bases on conducted researches. Defined technical conditions of pelletization flotation potassium chloride using pulp and paper industry’s waste as binder provide product with good commercial qualities, which are yield of marketable fraction (85.71 %) and resistance of granule (29.51 N). The researches for studying conditions of baking were conducted and subsisted defects on granule surfaces. There are two kinds of defects. One of them is inner defect is represented as caverns and flaws. Another type of defects are outer defects. They are represented as crystallized structural arrangements in the form of coreless tube that has net structure and includes fiber and cubic shaped microcrystals. Granule defects form after baking them with temperature higher than 120ºC.

  • Predicting of degradation products of manganese nitrate

Pourbaix diagram data of manganese nitrate dissociation in aqueous solutions at 100, 250 С. The data for the study of manganese oxides phase stability at various conditions such as pH, temperature, partial pressure of oxygen, nitrogen oxide, water vapor are shown. Phase stability diagrams allow to show the influence of partial pressure of a particular gases which are introduced into the reaction zone on phase equilibrium of system and determine termination products of the reaction at different conditions. Phase diagrams of manganese compounds and thermodynamic models of manganese nitrate degradation products are plotted.

  • Modeling of changes of physicochemical characteristics of potash fertilizers at storage and transportation

A model system was designed and test  trials of physical and mechanical characteristics of small – crystalline and granular flotation potassium chloride are studied. This model system allows to design storage and transportation  of fertilizers in bulk in railway wagons and it has the same static and vibrational load as real system. The effect of temperature and relative humidity of the air on hygroscopy of small – crystalline and granular КСl were studied. Furthermore the influence of static load, and time length  of compression process of fertilizing layer and parameters of static and vibrational load on composition of КСl granules were investigated. It was experimentally proved that the humidity increase (0,5 %) of granular КСl and the  increase of static load and time length  of compression process of product during transportation in bulk lead to increase of compaction degree and caking ability of product. Research of the influence of high static load (10-30 kg/sm2) and time length of compression process of fertilizing layer on caking ability and degree of compaction show that small – grained KCl has smaller degree of compaction and considerably higher value of caking ability in comparison with granular KCl.

  • Kinetics of sylvinite ore desliming under ultrasonic treatment

Operation of sylvinite ore desliming is an important step of potassium chloride production by floatation method. It is known that ultrasonic treatment is applied to increase the efficiency of insoluble rest separating from an ore. The purpose was to establish kinetic regularities of the insoluble rest removal from sylvinite ore crystals of the same particle size distribution. Investigations were carried out with mechanical stirring and sonication of varying intensity. It is established that process of sylvinite ore desliming occurs in the diffusion mode. Application of ultrasonic treatment allows to intensify process in 2-4 times as compared with mechanical desliming. Influence of sylvinite ore treatment parameters to chemical composition changing of the insoluble rest is defined. It is shown that sonication for 90 seconds leads to removing carbonates from ore crystals withal concentrating of the iron compounds.
