  • Detecting unauthorised intrusion into wireless peer-to-peer networks

This paper analyses intrusion detection techniques and provides recommendations for preventing intrusions in peer-to-peer wireless networks. Peer-to-peer wireless networks are particularly vulnerable to attack due to their openness, dynamically changing topology, collaborative algorithms, lack of centralised monitoring, centralised control point and lack of clear protection. Intrusion detection techniques exist in wired networks but they are not applicable in wireless environment. The paper also presents a new intrusion defence method based on intrusion detection in peer-to-peer wireless networks.

  • Influence of compressive force on the characteristics of a viscoelastic material

Currently, one of the most promising and cost-effective methods of seismic isolation is the use of passive energy dissipation systems. The research carried out in this article focuses on the use of a new hybrid energy dissipation device that combines a parallel layer of an inexpensive viscoelastic material and a metal component. Typically, the viscoelastic material in such systems is attached to steel shock absorbers with an adhesive. In this article, the behavior of a viscoelastic material is studied when it is attached to a metal component without the use of glue, being held only by friction and pressure. The influence of the compression force on the elastic and damping properties of a viscoelastic material arranged in a seismic damper has been established, and the pressing force has been determined, which ensures the optimal functional properties of the viscoelastic material.

  • Investigation of the bottom and bottom structures of the shallow sea

The problem of studying the peculiarities of sound propagation in shallow seas is an urgent task of hydroacoustics, since it is associated with human production activities in coastal zones and waters of shallow seas. A shallow sea for a sound field is a waveguide in which certain modes propagate. Features such as "extinction" modes and dispersion distort the picture of the sound field. There is also a complex interference situation due to reverberation interference and multiple re-reflections. To avoid information loss, it is proposed to use narrowly directed parametric radiation without side lobes. The issues of equipment selection are considered, the law of temporary automatic gain control (TAGC) for the study of bottom layers is calculated. The results of the analysis of echograms for depths of 1-2 m are presented. The possibility of identifying layers and anomalies is shown.

  • Functional versatility of adjustable horizontal louvre sunshades

The article considers internal adjustable sun-protecting jalousies from their different functional efficiency pant of view. It is noted, that besides their main sun-protective function, adjustable jalousies possess some other functions, depending on the position of their horizontal planks. These functions can be successfully used for microclimatic internal environment creation of comfortable. These are natural lighting function, psychological contract with surrounding environment function and function of visual isolation, i.e. “privacy”. and so on. All the above functions usually have maximum efficiency of their qualities in the case of their individual consideration. This, as a rule, is not practically reasonable. That is why this work is aimed on optimum combination of the man functional characteristics of horizontal sun-protecting jalousies under necessity of their mutual consideration, i.e. in achievement of their functional universality.

  • Study of pollution of fine airborne dust in roadside areas

The article addresses issues related to the definition of particulate matter characteristics in the air of roadside areas. Fine suspended solid particles (TPM) of different size -10 and 2.5 μm are one of the main characteristics of atmospheric air quality. When monitoring the air environment on the maintenance of the firm weighed particles two indicators are used and normalized: PM2.5, PM10 are the firm weighed particles (English Particulate Matter, PM) with an aerodynamic diameter of 2.5 microns or less; Solid suspended particles with aerodynamic diameter of 10 microns or less. Dust particles from traffic are seen as an increasingly important source of air pollution, as the vehicle fleet is increasing worldwide, hence exhaust gas emissions, as well as particles from tire abrasion and road surface wear. Studies were carried out on the dust content of the roadside territories of the city of Volgograd. The article also pays attention to air quality indices, which will be used in monitoring the air environment of urban areas.

  • Dynamic characteristics of the relative humidity sensor

The article considers the solution of the problem of determining the dynamic characteristics of the relative humidity sensor, the mathematical model of which was based on the first order aperiodic link. The solution algorithm consists in minimizing the value of the standard mismatch of the approximating function and the set of experimental data. The results of processing experiments with the DHT-22 temperature and humidity sensor are presented. The sensor was placed three times in a medium with high humidity, which allowed to obtain an average experimental transient response. The period of measurement and registration of humidity and temperature was 1.5 seconds. The proposed method of calculating the dynamic parameters of the sensor allowed to determine the value of the time constant and the gain of the aperiodic link for the sensor under study.
