  • On the evaluation of dust characteristics using dispersed analysis of variance of additive-simplex type to reduce particle leakage out from the dust in the dust aspiration’ collectors building industry

    The article is devoted to the issue of improving the environmental safety of the construction industry by improving dust collectors of dust removal systems for the aspiration schemes of the construction industry/ It was proposed use additive-integrated dispersive analysis of variance of dust particles emissions throw out into the atmosphere by aspiration systems. The article proposes the improvement of complex analysis of variance using hydrodynamic criteria in output functions. Modified output data and additive-simplex allows getting approach to evaluate characteristics - equivalent sizes and speeds of sedimentation-soiling of dust particles with a higher degree of accuracy of the results. It makes possibility to determine the ranges of size’s and velocities’ changes with real ability. It is possible to obtain more reliable data of sedimentation rates and equivalent particle sizes for the studied dust samples of building materials using the distributions of the hydrodynamics criteria. Analytical approach to determining the density’ distribution of the numerical values of the hydrodynamics criteria in the output function allowed us to clarify the more real values of sedimentation rates and the equivalent particle sizes and the range of their changes both. This way analysis of variance of dispersed dust particles could call additive-complex or simplex approach. The obtained regressions in processing the research results were used in the development of devices for capturing dust of dispersed building materials from emissions. This way could significantly reduced dust leakage out from aspiration collectors of decreasing dust systems while purifying emissions at the building enterprises. This approach is one of the most effective ways to improve the environmental safety of the building industry.

  • Inspection of the technical condition of precast reinforced concrete columns of the ABK building of a cotton mill in the city of Shakhty

    The article discusses the results of a survey of the technical condition of precast reinforced concrete columns of the building of the administrative building of the cotton mill in Shakhty. A calibration calculation for bearing capacity was made taking into account additional loads. Identified extensive damage the main ones are: - destruction of the protective layer of concrete, exposure and corrosive wear up to 10% of the cross section of the working and transverse reinforcement of columns; - cracks in the protective layer of concrete on the surface of the shelves of columns. The technical condition of the building structures of the administrative building for the period of the survey is assessed as unsuitable to the conditions of normal operation (partially operational). A calibration calculation was made and recommendations were developed for restoring the bearing capacity of precast concrete columns.

  • Analytical determination of thermal and radiation deformations of concretes and mortars with low aggregates content

    Experimental verification of the existing method of analytical determination of radiation and thermal deformations of concretes and solutions on the basis of data on deformations of aggregate and cement stone for materials with low content of aggregates is carried out. The test was carried out on samples of solutions with different content of aggregate-sand based on the results of determining the size changes after heating at temperatures from 105 ° C to 400 ° C. It is shown that at the volume content of fillers less than 52% there are differences between the calculated and experimental values of changes in the size of solutions after heating. Moreover, the differences increase with the decrease in the volume content of the filler, with an increase in the heating temperature and the difference between the thermal deformations of the filler and the cement stone. The obtained results allow to correct the results of calculations using the specified existing analytical method for concretes and solutions with a filler content of less than 52%

  • Optimization of fuel use in modular boilers

    This article presents the results of an experimental study and evaluation of the application of a method for optimizing fuel use by the ratio of the power of a boiler unit in a block-modular boiler house and setting the power of a burner on the combustion steps. As a result of the study, the criteria for the application of this method to the existing block-modular boiler house, the factors having the greatest influence on the efficiency of the boiler units are determined.

  • On the issue of high-strength concrete production in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

    An assessment was made of the possibility of obtaining high-strength concrete based on certain materials of SRV. The analysis of the effect on the ultimate strength of concrete in compression for the duration of hardening, the magnitude of the water-cement ratio, and the properties of materials was performed. A technique for selecting efficient materials for the production of high-strength concrete based on an estimate of the specific consumption of cement is given. It is shown that on the basis of materials available in the northern regions of NRW, high-strength concrete with a specific cement consumption of about 6 (kg / m3) / MPa can be obtained. It was concluded that, in the production of high-strength concrete, it is advisable to increase the adhesion of cement stone to coarse aggregate, for example, by introducing active microsilica in the form of rice husk ash into the concrete mix. It has been suggested that it is necessary to study the effect of superplasticizing additives used in SRV on the kinetics of hardening of cements in order to determine the group of additives that have a minimal retarding effect on the growth of concrete strength in the early period

  • Increasing the atmospheric resistance of plastering outside brick walls of heated buildings

    Currently, in civil engineering, when building the exterior walls of buildings, plastered brickwork is most often used. The plaster gives the building a more aesthetic appearance, protects from weathering, moisture, precipitation. During the heating season, the plaster coating has the most destructive effect. Thus, the problem arises of the technology of plaster coating with a longer service life. The purpose of this research work was to study plaster on the external brick walls of heated civil buildings, as well as to find ways to improve the weather resistance of the facade plaster with the use of light stucco cement mortar and the use of advanced technology for its construction. To solve this problem, an analysis of the existing shortcomings of the facade plaster under atmospheric influences on it has been performed. Damage to the plaster layer arising during the process of atmospheric exposure is determined. In laboratory conditions, experimental studies were carried out to determine the optimum parameters of weatherproof plasters. The plaster coating of the external brick walls obtained by the above method has an increased strength, capable of resisting various atmospheric influences during the long-term operation of the heated building without degrading its functional properties.

  • Compensation of temperature lengthening in systems of centralized hot water supply made from polyethylene pipelines

    The article discusses the comparison of polyethylene and steel pipelines. The definition of coefficient of temperature linear expansion for polyethylene pipelines is given. The analysis of existing methods to determine the linear dimensions of compensators and their compensating ability was carried out. The analysis of the obtained dependences showed that the calculated compensating ability, in some cases, exceeds the geometric dimensions of the compensator. The method for determining the compensating ability is determined.

  • Engineering issues of the development of the project of the object of protection of cultural heritage

    The basis of the state policy of preservation of cultural heritage objects is the maintenance of the state register of such objects. The occasion for inclusion in the register are recorded in a special document . This document is The draft of the subject matter of protection (DSMP). The paper discusses the methodological issues of the development of this document. The principles that should be the basis for the formation of the project are formulated. In modern practice, the development of DSMP is carried out mainly by architects with the participation of art historians. At the same time, it is necessary to increase the role of the engineer-restorer in the research of features, authenticity, historical and cultural value of structures and other engineering aspects of the existence of the monument. This is confirmed in the analysis of literary sources, and follows from the practical experience of the authors. In conclusion, the article formulates proposals for the content of the work of the engineer-restorer and measures to enhance its role in developing the DSMP.

  • Application of construction membranes in current buildings

    The article discusses structural membranes as modern building materials used to form the facades of buildings and structures. Paper give their detailed characteristics, physico-chemical properties and conditions of use. Two types of composite material from which the membranes are made are described: textiles and foil, their components, individual characteristics, method of manufacture.     The study of the influence of the social context of a territory on a planning decision is one of the most important modern research directions. The territory of the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd was chosen as the object of research. The article presents the results of the analysis and classification of the structure of the population of the region, the ranking of groups with disabilities, selected intergroup relations, and the study of the need for recreational facilities for each of the classified groups.   • Destruction of bridges as a result of flood disaster

    The article deals with the problem of the functional state of the bridge park in Russia. The statistics of the number of bridges, newly built bridges. Attention is focused on the inconsistency of old bridges with modern regulatory requirements for safety, carrying capacity, and carrying capacity. Noted on the relevance of flood impact on bridges and roads. The causes of occurrence are described. The problem of flood forecasting is highlighted. Examples of accidents of bridge structures from the effects of water flow are given: sediment, roll of supports and abutments, erosion of the embankment approach.   • Some organizational and technological solutions to strengthen the foundations in the reconstruction and superstructure of buildings

    In the case of superstructure or reconstruction of buildings and structures in dense urban areas, there is often a need to strengthen the foundations of buildings in order to extend their service life. In addition, the need to perform strengthening of the foundations may be due to an increase in existing loads, which in turn can cause additional precipitation of the foundations, including uneven. To prevent the development of such sediments is carried out strengthening the foundations of a specially designed project.   • Methodological guide to hydrobiological control of filamentous microorganisms of activated sludge

    The article presents the results of a study of activated sludge, which purifies domestic wastewater from nitrogen compounds under conditions of low concentrations of dissolved oxygen in the bioreactor (concentration at the level of 0.2-0.7 mg / dm3). The studies were carried out in laboratory and semi-production conditions on the models of circulating aeration facilities. Research methods included optical, electron and fluorescence microscopy, laser diffraction method and real-time polymerase chain reaction method. As a result of research, the composition and condition of the main indicator microorganisms of activated sludge, the structure of floccules of activated sludge, including the distribution of sizes of floccules depending on various technological conditions of the process, the cause of filamentous swelling of activated sludge in cases of disturbance of the system’s stability, as well as the number of functional bacteria genes archaea associated with the processes of nitrification and denitrification. Separately, research was carried out on the sedimentation properties of activated sludge, which includes the determination of sedimentation rates of activated sludge under the conditions of the mutual influence of floccules and biofloculation potential. Studies were performed both for experimental activated sludge, working with simultaneous nitrification and denitrification with low concentrations of dissolved oxygen, and for the control nitrifying activated sludge, taken from existing treatment plants operating according to the traditional technological scheme of denitrienitrification.

    This article discusses the relevance of the use of transformable systems in the architecture and construction of unique high-rise buildings. Conceptual projects of a dynamic architecture are described that have become the basis for the implementation of innovative solutions that take into account the requirements of sustainable development. On the basis of a retrospective analysis of the experience of designing public buildings, using transformation in architecture, as well as conceptual designs of high-rise buildings, the main areas of application of transformable systems in modern high-rise construction are identified.
