  • Final element analysis of strain-stress state of elements of crosscut power end of bus body in operation

    In the article it is reflected the results of carrying out numerical research of supporting capacity of side interfenestral bus body pillars. It is carried out calculating of detailed final element model of bus body pillars with considering the physical and geometric nonlinearity. The implementation of final element analysis of the stress-strain state of bus body pillars is provided for simple and complex bending. It is made the consideration of the influence of chemical material corrosion on stiffness and strength characteristics of the body pillar. Modeling is made with the use of opportunities of a package of the applied ANSYS programs.

  • Estimate travel time based on the simulation of traffic flows

    To solve the traffic problems , namely the coordination of the movement of transport modes have been developed micro-and macro-modeling programs that predict traffic situations , to choose the most appropriate solutions for specific problems by using real data and statistics. The emergence of intelligent transportation systems, traffic simulation pushed to the fact that it has become one of the most used methods for studying the traffic flow, allowing to plan and predict the situation on the roads. The possibilities offered by the modeling of traffic flows , helping to simulate the situation on the roads, and it becomes a unique tool for understanding the complexity of transport systems. For precise work of model needs an indicator such as the time of the trip. Travel time - the time it takes to travel from one point to another , consisting of travel time and the stop time of the vehicle.

  • The introduction of a new method of traffic light control on the road network of modern cities

    Traffic light control for urban road network has for several decades been one of the most important areas of study and application in order to ensure maximum efficiency . During this time he developed a variety of techniques and tools , a lot of research . But with the ever increasing number of cars and , as a consequence , poor road conditions and increases in the amount of traffic congestion , require more and more new and advanced techniques that would have allowed not only to solve the existing problems , but also to predict the possible developments in the future. Traffic congestion on the road network of the city continues to be a growing problem of modern cities . Possible reduction of traffic congestion can be achieved either by the constant increase in the volume of road surface, or by reducing the demand for personal vehicles . If we assume that the improvement will be achieved by increasing the number of roads , it is possible to face the fact that it is not always feasible , given the current road infrastructure . Accordingly , it follows that it is necessary to focus on the use of traffic management to reduce congestion and subsequent increase in urban transport mobility .

  • Research of the influence of the development level of intelligent transport network on the efficiency of intermittent bus lane priority application

    The article deals with the analysis of intermittent lanes priority based on simulation. The implementation of intermittent lanes priority system is only possible within the framework of urban intelligent transportation system (ITS).  In some cases, there are not always enough ITS components for the operation of intermittent lanes priority system. Based on the simulation it is possible to determine the efficiency of the intermittent lanes priority system with the minimum or complete number ITS components. To compare the effectiveness of intermittent lanes priority system the simulation was performed for the four scenarios:
    1. Without the use of public transport priority
    2.  Classically  marked priority lane
    3. Using the intermittent lanes priority system with a minimum number of ITS components
    4. Using the intermittent lanes priority system with the full amount of ITS components 
    According the results of simulation we concluded that the minimal intermittent lanes priority system is noticeably inferior to a fully functional intermittent lanes priority system on the effectiveness, but such system does not require a high level of development of the urban ITS and can be considered as the first stage of a complete intermittent lanes priority system.

  • The development of regression models for evaluation of terminal operations and traffic flow on adjacent road network

    Regression models for evaluation of terminal operations and traffic flow on adjacent road network are defined. By means of microsimulation, the processing time for each vehicle at the each gate set limits the maximum values of the input rate, which causes the average queue length not exceeding the value of 2.5 car.

  • Simulation re-routing strategies for the CBD network of Rostov-on-Don.

    This paper presents the results obtained at simulation of various algorithms dynamic route guidance. A simulation experiments has been executed for the CBD network of Rostov-on-Don with using AIMSUN package. The main objectives of research are estimate routing strategy and relation between shape of the macroscopic fundamental diagram and traffic assignment on the network.

  • Research of pedestrian's speed

    One of the main parametrs for traffic engeneering of pedestrians is pedestrian's speed. We don't have information about influence week's day, day's time, an ain of moving for pedestrian's speed. There'are results of researches in the article about alone pedestrian's speed, about speed of pedestrian's groups. A lot of pedestrian's groups have two or three persons. A key information about pedestrian's speed brought by mesurements distances and time of mouving. Those mesurements were during the each day of week from 08:00 to 20:00. Pedestrian's speed depends on size of pedestrian's group firstly, an aim of walking secondly

        The authors propose a method for determining the height of bus rollover to access body structure strength according to the Rules the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe № 66 (UNECE). Besides, it will allow to result in optimum value height of bus rollover with different dimensions. It is necessary to get more reliable information of body structure strength. For this purpose in procedure of tests it is suggested to enter the additional stage of calculation of the height of rollover before setting of transport vehicle on a rollover platform.

  • Analysis of the causes of road traffic accidents involving young drivers

    "In this article, the authors consider the problem of the growth of road traffic accidents (RTAs) among young drivers. Analyzed the growth trend of accidents in Russia, which can be traced to the schedule presented in the article. The authors presented an analysis of the dynamics of accidents from 2004 to 2011. Analyzed the statistics of accidents, because of their very, very young drivers (up to 3 years of driving experience) for the period from 2004 to 2011, also made the appropriate conclusions. In order to identify the most dangerous period of independent practical driving, the authors conducted a survey of a group of 100 young drivers, driving experience that ranged from 2.5 to three years. The survey results are processed and presented in the article. Based on the survey results, the authors proposed a method of psychological impact on the candidates for the drivers to better prepare them. This method is also presented in the paper. "
